The synthetic track in race course ground
Certainly a reason to joy. The synthetic athletic track is ready at race course ground. It is heartening to note that it is the 2nd such track in Tamilnadu. The first one is in JN stadium at Chennai.
The track is waiting for VIPs to formally open. Sadly, the national level, Federation Cup Junior athletic championships (July 1 & 2) cannot be held there because of this. The champhionship was held at Armed Reserve ground.

Wow! That’s quite a list. We haven’t heard many of the private ventures here in Madurai. Are you sure they are real? (Reliance fresh being bought 11 theatres & a mall at Race Course).
For the government efforts like SEZs, Nanguneri is a stark reminder. It might stay on paper for decades. Even the overbridge near Periyar bus stand is taking ages to complete.
When it comes to Madurai & down south, things are ssslow.
It is not possible because already madurai is poor developed in IT industries and other industries i think it takes more years(25) to future metro…….
Why can’t Madurai become a metero politan ? Small cities like Trichy, Coimbatore can develop ? Why not Madurai. Development depends upon the government and private sectors and not on the city. Coimbatore and Trichy became corporation after Madurai and still they are smaller cities when compared to Madurai. Still there is no IT developments in other cities also except Chennai , evn chennai is an underdeveloped city when compnay compared to the IT companies in Bangalore. In Madurai Honeywell , AJ Square corporation has been started and recently CM has open the foundation stones for 2 IT parks in Madurai where companies like Satyam, HCL, Sify , Sutherland has already booked land
